97 explorer awd question

I have a 97 explorer v8 awd, when i got it, it didnt have the front driveshaft, i just found one and installed it, when i was on the test drive i heard a popping sound only when i was accelerating or turning right...i know that a bad cv axle will pop when turning but not when speeding up. When i got home i pulled the fill plug on the front end bc i thought it might low oil, but when i pulled the plug, alot of oil that looked like light brown chocolate milk came out. Im just wondering if this has anything to do with the popping that i heard. Any advice yall have would be excellent. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

depends on how bad the cv is , it might pop on acceleration, i know on my Aerostar it was poppping and clicking and it was a cv on passenger side,,


as for the chocolate milk thing, i would get that out of there and put in fresh stuff, ,

The popping honestly sounds more like the gears binding up...would that happen if the front diff had bad oil in it...it doesnt really sound like a cv axle...but it never made any noise before i put the driveshaft in....
