Anyone know the socket needed to get off the 4 front driveshaft bolts at the front u-joint? They look to have been Torx at one time but someone looks to have butchered them long ago. None of my sockets will fit, looks like I'll need a thin-wall socket, just not sure which one (or set) to buy.

Thanks a lot.

Dave

T30 Torx or 3/8 (10mm) socket. Sorry Techie...that's what mine are. I just checked to be sure.

If the torx hole is messed up you might be able to tap the the bit into the head of the bolt with a hammer and get enough grab to turn them out. I had to grind an old socket into a thin wall to get two of mine out...theres just not enough room between the retaining strap and bolt head for a regular socket. Good luck. :)
