Well, hit nearly 100 degrees today. Finished with my front end project, so I thought while i was still sweating like a pig, I would get back to the AC problem. It's the clutch.
With the truck off, I was able to move the clutch wheel, but it does not move easily. I suppose it should? Well, after that, started the truck, the clutch struggled, and eventually got up to speed.
So, it's not clear if this is part of the compressor, or if there's a chance I can replace it without opening up the system (and spending a pile of money on the compressor). Can't I spray somewhere in there, and see how long it keeps working? I mean, if I have to replace the compressor anyway, how much damage can it do to keep running it?! I just got finished rebuilding the front end and putting tires on it, so any output of money for the AC is gonna have to wait a while.
