97 Explorer only has Reverse & 2nd Gear!

Ok, my poor Explorer just ran into more issues. Pulling out of a parking space I could not engage the car to drive. The vehicle will only move in Reverse or 2nd Gear. The OD Band failed over a year ago but the car has been drivable since then.

Is this probably an easy fix such as a solenoid? The fluid is full. We were planning on replacing the Explorer in a month or two when we recieve payment for a job we are doing. Do you think it is ok to drive locally with only 2nd gear or am I asking for trouble?

Try put the truck in movement, untin you look that the 2' gear is engaged. Then change to 'drive' and see if the tranny still engaging 3, 4 and 5

If the tranny do that, it could be the direct drum sprag
