97 Explorer Transfer Case - 4405 or 4411?

I am trying to locate a transfer case for my 97 Explorer XLT. It has the 4405 T-case, which is shot. I have located a few 4411 T-cases on the internet, and in the pictures the 4411 looks exactly like the 4405. Can someone tells me what the difference is? Has anyone ever tried to put a 4411 into a 97 style Explorer? I believe the 4411 that I found is out of an 03. Thanks

The 4411's back side may look like the 4405 but turn it around and you'll see that the front is very different from the 4405.

The bolt pattern which mates the transfer cases to their appropriate transmission is completely different. The 4405's bolt pattern is circular with 5 bolt holes plus 1 aligning pin. The 4411's bolt pattern is more of a diamond-shape with 7 bolt holes and 2 aligning pins.
