I think I possibly have more then one issue. I tried the free door fix I saw reference to because for years I was just running max ac and it was hot on regular AC. I did the free fix and now when idle the ac does in fact blow cold. Once I put the car in motion it starts to get warm and or hot depending on speed. The MAX ac I believe is supposed to lift the door found behind the glove compartment to the far right of the cab that lowers and raises. I tried wedging it open to emulate max ac but it made no difference and gets warm/hot when in motion. I have 230k miles on the truck so really don't want to throw a lot of money into fixing it which is why I tried the free fix. Is it possible it just needs charging? It seemed unlikely since it feels rather cold when the truck isn't moving but I don't really know where I should be starting since most people have the opposite problem looking at posts where it works in motion but not at idle.

...when you have it on a.c. it pulls air from the outside...when on max a.c., it pulls the inside air only and actually saves on gas...all the a.c. controls on your dash i believe are vacuum operated...and i would say get it checked as most times you can find a coupon to do so...it may be low on freon or even leaked some...i hope this helps...:D
