97 Mountaineer- driver door lock actuator will lock door but not unlock

It tries to unlock it but seems like it just doesn't have the power to. There was an attempt to break into the truck which messed up the lock cylinders, and am not sure if its the cause. The door does open when I pull on the inside latch. Any thoughts before I pull the panel off? Broken piece to fix or new actuator? Thanks

Only thing i could say is if you do buy an actuator, buy an OEM product, the aftermarket is junk junk junk.

If your lock linkages are bount up do to the theft attempt you will experience something like this. Is the lock cylinder gone ? punched ? bent sheetmetal and ****ed ?
How does the latch and outside handle feel ?
