Hi everybody,

I recently had a chance to drive my brothers new ride, a 99 X EB AWD. One thing I noticed is that the ride feels totally different from my 97 EB. Its a lot stiffer and doesnt shake as much as my 97. There is almost no body roll meaning I could take corners a lot faster and safer.
Can anyone tell me if there is a major difference between the suspension of the 99 and the 97?
Thanx

The 99 and higher have a thicker front sway bar. That's the main cause of the stiffer ride and not as shakey.

Are the sway bars interchangeable b/t the '96 and '99??

Don't quote me on it, but I think they are. You may be better off getting a set of performance bars from Explorer Express.

So is that the only difference between the years? What is the difference in the lift kits? Just kinda wondering, if anyone can help, thanks!

Happy trailes!

97-Torsion bar brackets are welded instead of bolted to the frame rails.

Geez, that's it? Couldn't a man use a lift kit for those years, or what that do you any good. I haven't even researched lifts for a while, is the only thing made for a 97 is the 4" lift? Do they make a smaller one for a 98+? Man if so couldn't i bolt that up on mine? Thanks for your help!

You could use the 98-01 Trailmaster 4" kit with some modifications.
