Hello all!

I have a 97 Explorer with a problem shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. It always does it and this has been a issue for almost a year now. I always have to bring the revs up past 4,000+ RPM and release the gas pedal to shift. This is only a issue with first and second gear, everything else after second shifts perfectly. I recently went to have my codes read. These are the Codes that came up... "P1762", "P0420", "P0731 - P0735". I would love to fix this issue myself. I have the tools and desire to do so. Can anyone help me with some solid input?

Thanks,
Yochum

I have the exact same issue, i have done research and haven't been able to figure out the exact problem, the most likely culprit is a dirty or bad valve body, at least from what I've read. i would love to fix this problem too its soooo annoying i feel like my tranny is just going to fall from under me sometime.

I would have to say its either the valve body or the intermediate band.

One of those codes is for the Band being out of tolerance... I didn't get a look exactly what the code reader said. But that was what i was told.
