OK, I've got a couple dumb questions regarding changing ball joints on the 95+ front ends... Why do you have to remove the halfshaft in order to remove the upright/Knuckle? Can't you loosen the spindle nut and slide the halfshaft out of the hub? Just a thought....
The real question... I need to replace my uppers... Both are THOROUGHLY shot.... ( I wondered what all that clunking was?!!? ) Is it really that much more involved to do the lowers as well? Looking at it, it seems like I should only need to take the upright and the upper control arm in to have the joints pressed out and in, right?
Another dumb question... if I only replace the upper, without removing the control arm, do I still need to have it re-aligned?
