98 Blinking 4WD High / 4WD Low Lights (fix)

Just an FYI for anyone having this problem and getting this in a search. If you're getting the blinking lights o' doom and your truck won't go into 4High/Low:

I had this happen today after going over a series of really badass potholes. Disconnected the battery negative for 15mins, reconnected, all is happy and well.

Hope it works out for anyone getting this. (Seems pretty popular)

Same thing: 4wd hi and lo blinking six times every two minutes. Disconnected battery (and obviously reconnected), and lights no longer flash.

Problem now is when I turn 4wd dial to lo, the 4-lo light is not coming on, so I'm guessing 4-lo is not engaging. 4-hi light comes on when 4wd dial is turnd to 4-hi.

Blinking lights

I have been having similiar problems with mine. A year ago the 4X4 lights were flashing and i did disconnected the battery and all was well. After a few months the fix would only last a few days. I then replaced the 4X4 switch and it worked for 6 months. (based on taking it in to get the codes read) now its doin it again and I think it might be the ECM, but im not sure I bought a code reader but nothing shows. so watch out down the road
