- 1998 Explorer XLT
Hi, this is my first post. I have a 98 Explorer XLT 4-door 4WD. I put an alarm LED on the dash and I'm having a heck of a time finding the accessory wire so that the LED stops flashing when I'm driving. I've got the LED mounted just below the radio/cd player in the center console. When I lift the console out, I see a big wiring connector and then another set of wires that run towards the back of the vehicle (kind of underneath the CD changer). I don't know if I can tap into this set of wires that run towards the back of the vehicle or not. I read somewhere that it is the red wire I need to use? No problem finding a ground and right now, I'm just wired to the cigarette lighter +12V. Does anyone know which wire I can use in the mass of wires that run through the console towards the back of my Explorer? I hope I posted this question in the right forum. Thanks so much for any help you can provide.
