Hey fella's, I'm trying to remove the timing chain cover from my explorer to remove a broken water pump bolt from the block. I need to get that bracket that the power steering pump is attached to out of the way so I can get some vise grips or a drill in there. Is there any way to move this bracket without having to evacuate and remove the AC compressor? My Haynes manual makes it seem like it is, but it's just not making any sense to me.

No need to mess with the AC. You need to find the 3 or 4 bolts in the PS, AC bracket assembly and remove them and check for anything else attached. You can lay the whole assembly to the side. It will be heavy and a little hard to handle. Just be careful. After you get all the water pump bolts out, run a tap with the correct thread size to the bottom of each thread hole. Clean up all your bolts and use lots anti-seize. Broke off a few bolt in my time. good luck

Thanks!

Thanks a bunch for the help! Just what I needed to know:thumbsup:
