I have this radio:

http://www.techforless.com/cgi-bin/tech4less/PCD120UCS?id=wghP7ILJ&mv_pc=1505

and the in dash kit from metra.

I bought the AT-WHDF3 http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Radio-Accessories-Metra_6050008-P_1394_A|GRP2021____from Advance auto, but it doesn't seem to work.

What wiring harness should I get or can I just splice it together myself? (I have no problem doing that if I have to - (20 years electronics))

Any help appreciated. Need to add, it has 2 plugs from the back of the old radio.

So, let's see I got this right.

The part you bought is the Ford wiring harness kit to go from the Ford wires to new connectors for aftermarket stereo?

If that is correct, then you need the end that you crimp to the wires coming out of the back of the stereo.

Did I get it right? We kind of need more info, is the in-dash kit the plastic trim peice or does it come with the wires that go to the Ford factory wires.

EDIT: You need this to go from the back of the stereo in to the dash.

Then you need this to go from factory wires already in the dash and these get crimped (or w/e method you want to use) to the wires on the back of the harness listed above. (http://cgi.ebay.com/Scosche-Car-Stereo-Wire-Harness-BBFD02AB-1986-UP-FORD_W0QQitemZ260273431119QQcmdZViewItem)

Just example parts listed above. Not the ones you need.

Hi and welcome, are you trying to use the Jensen with the factory amp and speakers? (and subwoofer if you have one)

The in dash kit is the plastic mounting piece.

The wiring harness that I bought: http://shop.oreillyauto.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=MRA&MfrPartNumber=CKWHFD3&CategoryCode=3075 (can't get image to show)

is supposed to go from the Ford wires to the radio (radio come's with it's own adapters). This particular harness is not the right one, even though that's what the part finder gadget at Advance Auto came up with.. My factory radio has the amp and power connectors, so i need adapters for those connections.
