98 tranny in 97 ranger?

will a 98 automatic tranny plug in and work on a 1997 ford ranger 4.0? with 98 wiring on tranny, or do i have some modifications to do. i know it will bolt up, but not sure of electrical connections. thanks

The 97 has an extra sensor that the 98 does not have. You could easily shunt the connection. I have more information in # 7 in my list of useful threads.
