Greetings all,
I'm curious if anyone had any ideas on this one.
I have a '98 with 130k miles that makes a thumping noise when the 4x4 is either in Auto or flipped into 4x4 High or Low. The thumping seems to happen every half second or so.
A while back I installed a switch on the yellow wire of the 4x4 module which does cause the thumping sound to stop, but I would like to eventually get this fixed.
Any ideas to the cause of the noise? Average repair estimate?
