So my brothers truck (98 XLT) has some front end issues and he asked me to find out how hard it would be to replace. If i remember right something went wrong with a bushin ont he steering rack and his ball joints need replacing, i think inner? The question is the shop wants 900 bucks to do it all and thats rediculous, so how hard would it be to do it all ourselves. I have worked on bmws for a while but know next to nothing about ford's and 4wd's. We have basic tools at our disposal. So how hard would this be if it is at all do-able and what does it involve and how long approx does it take? Thanks guys im not sure if this is the right area to post this or not but i cant post in the tech forum. ?

You can't post in the tech area because you're not a tech :)
Most of the thing I've done to my front end have been with basic tools, but I'm no expert so I don't know the extent of the damage
