Hey just recently purchaced a 98 sport4x4 4.0 sohc with only 94000 km on it. Would like to know what i can get in vancouver canada. very limited so far and us shipping rates and duty almost double the price. thinking k&n intake but have been reading on using a jet maf but have had no responce from jet if it is for the sohc or the ohv. also read to use mustang tb? and bama chips hasn't replied to my e-mails. just new to this so gathering info slowly. thanx

I have some stuff for the SOHC for sale eventually....

Be patient with Bama. It was a LONG weekend in the US. I heard from Doug tonight re: a reburn of my flasher. It had been 4+ days since I'd heard from him myself.

K&N is fine, but expensive. Consider MAC. Lot cheaper and same performance.

We don't pay duty in Canada! Get seller to ship US Postal Service and you only pay $5 handling fee + GST/PST on converted amount. The US exchange rate is very favourable right now, so buying from US isn't bad if you shop around. You will get screwed by UPS if you use them. They charge brokerage, but that's not duty. The Government doesn't see the bucks. UPS takes it all.

I have a Ford Racing Mustang TB that I had on my 2000 Sport with SOHC. It just bolts right on. It's identical to this one on eBay. I just traded my Sport in on a 5.0 Eddie Bauer last week and the TB doesn't work on my V8. I still have the TB and it's in almost new condition (only had it for a few months, purchased new in September). They go for at least $200 USD + shipping. I'll sell it to you, but I don't plan on just giving it away. Make a reasonable offer via private message and we could have a deal. I'm in Calgary, so you could have it soon if you wanted. I liked the TB. The difference is subtle, but it's there.

If you're going to get a chip/flasher and intake, make sure you get yourself a free flowing exhaust. I had a Flowmaster SUV 50 Series on my old Sport (scored the muffler from Mopac in Calgary and then had a muffler shop install it with new piping from the cats back). I just put a dual in, single out "Flo-Pro" muffler (Red Deer, AB company) on my 5.0. Nice stuff from them and not too obnoxious, sound wise. Model # FP736 if you find a Flo-Pro dealer in BC. I'm sure they're around. If not, email Flo-Pro and ask them for a dealer. They respond to emails! A dual in, single out is the easiest muffler to hook up to the SOHC (and the 5.0 for that matter). Flowmaster does have one in the SUV 50 series.

Check out my old Sport. I still have some pieces. I did recycle my Volant intake (all except the intake tube were transferred to my new Explorer, you could use the intake tube, but I am using the filter and box). I actually have a spare K&N filter, barely used kicking around. With the tube and filter, you might be able to rig up your own intake. I do NOT plan on parting with my MAF adapter that came with my Volant or the C&L MAF body. I will be selling the other things (TB, intake tube etc) eventually and selling it within Canada would probably be a lot simpler. Once again, touch base with me via Private Messaging if you're interested and we might be able to work something out. Too bad we didn't touch base sooner because I was in Vancouver area last Thursday/Friday. I could have brought the stuff with me and saved you shipping!

I've never heard of a Jet MAF for SOHC. Only Pro-M (company is out of business now), Granatelli and C&L.

Let me know if you're interested. I do have transaction feedback on this site and won't screw you.

Paypal is preferred.
