98 xlt driver side lock please help

i got my door kicked in and after that it wouldnt open until i ripped off the door panel with the door closed...after that i was able to reach inside and lift up on something and the door would open...but now everything is apart does anyone have really good pictures that would help me...?

I don't have any pictures, but I have the same Explorer as you. You need to replace the latch mechinism. [the device inside the door that actually latches it shut] 3 bolts and it should come out.. it's gonna be a pain... I had to go through all this crap too.

i got the same car as you if you want a pic im changing my speakers in the moring , so i can take a pic wile the panels off

just take the panel off your other door and look at the "real thing".
