Ok, this is the 2nd posting for this problem. I've been trying to locate the source of a misfire problem for a while now. Here is a list of things I've checked/replaced:
cleaned maf
new plugs
new plug wires
new ignition coil
new fuel filter
2 seafoam treatments
checked injectors
multiple fuel injectors cleaners added
cleaned cam sensor
replaced crank sensor
I may have done more, but these are the ones I can remember. There is no cel and scanning of the system does not reveal any codes whatsoever. My question is this: What are the possibilities I could have gotten a bad plug or wire? I removed all of the new plugs, and all of them appear to be working. None are fouled, black, scorched, cracked, etc. They all appear clean, new, and otherwise normal. Another question: While changing the ignition coil, I noticed the metal bracket that the unit mounted to had some rust on it. I didn't immediately think about this, but does this part serve as an electrical ground for the coil? In other words, could this possibly be the culprit? Any help with this would be great. It's driving me bonkers.
