EE is the only company that makes airdams for 99-01 bumpers.

Where did you hear this? If EE were the only one who makes them, how can that person say it's not the best quality? I mean, he said that base on what?

Some people have complained about poor fiberglass work on the EE airdams, while others have no problems at all. Maybe John V can clear this up.

well, like it was said in the thread, being fiberglass, they might just need more than a light sand. no big deal. i just wanted to know my options before i picked one up. either way, i'm 99% sure i'm gonna get it.

You should get them. With a little sanding/prepping they will look really nice.

ya, i probably will. $200 bucks though...ouch. i guess i'll just have to work a little harder this week :D

How's the finish on it?

Mine had some bad chips in it and some of the mounting tabs were cracked. I didnt know the first thing about fiberglass and thought that those things would just sand out so I brought it down to my friends body shop and said it just needed light sanding and paint (because thats what the EE site said) and he looked at me like I had 3 heads. After whatever they did it came out looking great tho!

The finish is smooth but does need to be prepped really good before paint. The edges need to be sanded as well. All minor stuff, it's in good shape.

i got mine in pretty decent shape. there were a few nicks here and there, but nothing you couldnt fix without too much trouble.

jssong, your X is sweet. i was gonna get all my stupid grey trim painted, but now i'm thinkin all the chrome too. if you don't mind, about how much did it cost you to get all your trim and chrome painted?

actually i didnt get the chrome removed or painted over. i bought a new grill, a new bumper for the front and rear, and the only thing that was painted over was the rear splashguards. the running boards were painted over no problem. the paint job was 450 to paint the grille, front and rear bumper, running board, splashguards, grey molding across the hatch, and also that small piece above the rear license plate with the ford emblem.

rob or crashwave is supposed to be working on doing everything himself. i havent talked to him lately, but you can ask him how he did it and maybe save yourself some money.

I received my Airdam from EE and it was in good shape as good an anyother Fiberglass product I have seen before. Just needs the normal prep, seal, and paint.
