Will a 99 explorer 4wd trans and transfer case fit on a 96 ranger? hey are both 4.0 v6's. sorry if this question is answered somewhere i just searched it and found nothing.

The 99 tranny is a 5R55E and the 96 Ranger should be a 4R55E if I remember right.. They may have the same mounting pattern but your PCM will be one confused SOB with the wrong tranny in there.

o okay. So what other years or models can i get that trans from. Ive been doing research ad i found our that the 5r55e and 4r are a bolt up fit but there is a extra sensor on the 5r hoiwever i can just not use it as it causes trouble anyway. is this true? and i kind of need to kow soon b/c im planiing to get a junkyard tranny tommorow
