I was needing to know if the computer will automatically adjust to the new duration of cam without putting a aftermarket chip in?

the stock cpu will run fine with a new cam, but you'll get the full potential with a chip or hypertec programmer and 1.7 Cobra roller rockers and new valve springs, either way you still see nice gains.

My friend drove his Mustang around for a few weeks after he got his Sean Hyland Motorsports cams installed before getting a chip burned for all the mods, it ran fine w/o the chip.

without a chip, it will run better than any X you have ever been in. later on, get a chip custom burned for the cam, and it will be even better. all you have to do is reset the computer when you put the cam in.

How hard is it to change/replace the camshaft, rockers, springs, etc.

Yea, it will run fine without a chip.

If you go the chip route, you can have adjustments done to the IAC to allow more air in at idle, which will make low end idle smoother.

Also, I don't think the hypertech power programmer lets you do any real programming, except for chanigng tire size, shift points, fuel octane, cooling fans, and speed limiter.

not really a beginner project. should be done by someone qualified to do so, or atleast a mustang owner friend who has done several before.
