I bought this truck about a year and a half ago and noticed that the brakes needed replacement. I replaced rotors and pads, but noticed that the front driver side pad was down to almost nothing and the passenger side was about 50% gone. Now it's been less than 10 months and it's doing the same thing. I hear the squealers on the driver side, so I pop it off and sure enough the pad is almost gone. What is causing the driver side to grab more than the passenger side and is it something I can fix? Thanks!

I would bet it's the caliper hanging up. The re are two sliders that the caliper bolts to on the caliper bracket to allow for even presure & wear. If the grease wears out they will not slide properly.

I don't know if you can just replace the sliders or if you need to replace thw caliper bracket itself.

I will take a look at that tonight. I will almost bet they are fouled up because I think they looked like they may have been when I changed the brakes last time. Only I didn't have a frame of reference until I did the brakes on my buddies 99 a couple weeks ago and his looked different than mine. Thanks

You can replace the caliper slide pins, save your old rubber boots tho. I used copper anti-seize to lube as was mentioned on here before.

The problem for me was the pins were basically welded to the brackets due to rust, I had to get new brackets. At that point a new caliper was not much more.
