That should be pretty easy. The mounting is the same between years. The only potentialproblem I could see is if you have fog lights, and still want them.

jefe's right, i think itll bolt right up, but youll have to change your fog lights, cuz in 98 the fog lights are rectangular.

Hey man, what color is your bumper?
I would gladly trade mine for yours if that is possible....fog lights and everything.

Hey jason 25 The bumper is grey.. and does not have foglights.. pretty basic.. the x itself is white. i would consider trading if ya wanted.

i did it, it will bolt on easily in 10 min

boombox, do you happen to have a picture of it?

Now that I've thought about it, i'm a little concerned as to whether my brush guard and tow hooks will line up correctly.

It's dark grey/black.. not painted and no fog lights.. pretty basic.. i wanted the lightest explorer i could find. so i have a 2 door 4.0ohv 5speed...

One more thing, My bumper does not have foglights and there for the chrome caps around them and i was wondering where i could get the chrome caps around the foglights.

perhaps my buddy 95xlt could tell you about this. he drove through a ditch, busted his bumper. then he bought a 99 sport and bought those chrome surrounds for 150 and tried to get them on, but he had no success because you need to custom fit them, and he tore apart his bumper with the dremel.

BoomBox,
I have e-mailed you.
ALso you could fit PIAA's into those two round holes where the foglights normally go if you wanted to add looks.

Just a thought gents - could a '95-up bumper (i'm thinking a '95-'97 particularly) be mounted to a '93 frame? I'm going to do the fiberglass conversion front, and I was wondering if I could mount a late-model bumper (pulled at a local scrap yard for cheap) at least as a temporary solution until I can have a nice off-road bumper built.
