99 Mercury Mountineer
hello all
we have a 99 mercury mountaineer it has 210,000 miles on it...
up to recently it has been running like a champ...
now we have a delay in shifting from 1st into second.. when it shifts it shift smooth as all other gears do and reverse is fine as well..

checked tranny fluid it is fine....
is this a transmission problem or something else..

also something that has been going on for a while is that my RPM gauge seems to always go to about 4ish , but the motor is not that high it is normal.. if i hit a bump my rmp gauge goes to where it should be for a bit then goes back to the 4ish mark... dont know if this is going hand in hand or not... but thought you might should know.. thanks!!!

What engine or trans? If its 5.0L with 4R70W the 1-2 accumulator piston can stick and cause shift concerns.

we have a V8 engine thats all l know..
sorry... i am not mechanical anything and neither is my husband!!:p:

i am sure i am on the way to my local mechanic.. but so afraid its going to be tons of money to fix.. but it does have 210 thousand miles....
