My 4X4 is sick! After reading all the threads concerning similar problems with the non-shifting of the transfer case into and out of 4WD I'm sure the problem lies within the T-Case or the T-Case shift motor. Having spent 2 weeks and many hours trying to diagnose the problem_disassembling and rebuilding the TC Motor, checking continuity and voltages with all circuits involved, switches and relays, vacuum solenoid operation, vacuum hublocks, etc.- it appears to me that the wedge-shaped TC shift rod that mates to the TC shift motor sensor gear has excessive wear which in turn allows the sensor to rotate on the shaft enough to throw off the computer. Should there be any "slop" in the sensor gear to this shaft?
