i got a 99 explorer sport with a 4.0 sohc its got 115000 miles on it. i did all the basics like plugs,wires,fuel filter,changed all the fluids even cleaned the fuel injectors not the cleaner youdump intthe tank the one you hook to the fuel rail made by 3m all that did make a big difference but the idle is still rough.
its starts fine the idle hangs aroud 900-1000 rpms for about 30 seconds thendrops to about 500-600 rpms and has a slight lope to it. seems to run fine in the upper rpms. it does have check engine light but i havnt got my hands on a code reader yet
i do know when i changed the spars plugs the 3 on th passenger side were quite a bit darker than the driver side itf that means anything.
what else should i check or clean?
