not without extensive body work. as well as the tail lights, the roof and rear window contours slightly changed. you might be able to get a 95-97 gate on there though....
1991-1994, and 1995-1997 doors will swap back and forth...but the contours changed slightly in 1998-2001. The BODY of the X didn't change in that area though. The rear side window changed the TRIM around the glass, but the seams and all stayed the same.
Even the latch remained unchanged.
With a LITTLE trim around the tail lights, it can be done. But now you have 2 license plate mounts.
NO. Like what was previously stated, it is not a bolt on swap. BUT if you are willing to trim the tailight area of the gate a bit then yes it will bolt on.
so with 95+ taillights and a lil rear quarterpanel trim i can have a 99 rearend. now what about the front? can i put 95-99 front end on mine? what would i have to trim to do a
2nd gen conversion on my 1st gen 91?
1991- no, youre not out of the woods yet. the tailight housing on the rear quarter panels are very different between any first gen (square) and second gen (rounded, kinda). good luck on the front end.....
yeah and also not to mention the wiring for a split stop lamp and turn signal, but if i were to take the front of my 91 x and the front of a 95 x completely off and put the 95 on the 91, what would have to be changed structure and body wise? and r the bolt locations the same?
