99 xlt
My first time posting. I just bought my xlt about 2 weeks ago. My first new project in 10 years. I couldnt find any direct answers in the threads of coarse i could be navigating wrong. Does any one out there carry a body lift for the 99 2wd xlt? The closest thing i could find is a f150 lift, will that work? Do I have to do any mods to the bumpers?
Thanks for any feedback!

You have to use a body lift for a ranger. But you have call the person your ordering from because you have to get things from 2 different kits. Hopefully someone can reply with the proper part numbers to the kits and what exactly you need to ask for. And welcome to the site.

All you need is the PA #883 kit since you have a 98+

Everything in there will work, you might have to drill out a few bushings. The front bumper brackets will come with the kit, For your rear bumper you will have to fab new brackets.

Why did I think it was a pre 98:confused: Sorry about that. Yomie is right, listen to him. I dont know what Im talking about. Im still asleep:D

thanks for the quick response, now I have to worry about syphilis! Yomie, Im assuming PA#883 is a part number for the kit where should I go to find it?

Syphilis? i'm lost thats too much info :p

The cheapest i have found it is at Dead Link Removed

it is for the '98+ Ford Ranger, you WILL have extra parts when you are done, don't worry.

One more thing, PA kit#883 is a 3" body lift. They also have a 2" kit that you can use if you dont want to go with the 3".

I did the 2" before i did the 3", the 2" is a pain cause none of the bolts fit, and you do not have any bumper brackets, trust me its not worth it.

I'm not trying to knock you down texploder but i'm just speaking from expreience

UNO with you being in AZ i'm sure there are some people out there that would help you if you needed it

Thanks again Yo, Now I have some leverage and know what im looking for the hunt begins in the desert.

Is it really that much harder to do the 2" BL?
I was planning on doing the 2" BL because I really didnt want to go with the 3".

Its not harder, just more of a pain. NONE of the bolts work, so you ahve to take out all your stock bolts and buy more 2" longer (i searched for 2 days finding a store that had some long enough, i ended up at 'pep boys' You don't have to worry about your steering, but my steering boot ripped. You don't have any bumper brackets that will work, so i had to torch the inside of my bumper to make the 3" ranger brackets work. I had to drill new holes in the rear for the rear bumper, but if you do this you can only get 2 bolts to hold your rear bumper on.

I couldn't get the passenger side of my fan shroud to drop 2" so my drivers side was dropped 2" and the passenger side was dropped 1" so the shroud was crooked, other than that i think everything else was cake
