I just wanted to take a moment and say thanks to all the folks who have posted solutions to various issues in this forum. In the short time that I have been here, I have been able to fix/repair/replace on my 2000 XLT: thermostat housing, temp/compass overhead display, rear wiper intermittent issue, and just today I fixed the constant door chime.

Basically I dropped the lower panel with the hood release, then removed the three screws on the bottom of the steering column housing. Once the screws are removed, both housings can be separated so you can access the ground wire. In my case, the blue wire housing broke off from the switch, so I took a few this strips or duct tape and taped it back in place by taping around the switch. So far, so good.

Again, thanks to all who have posted anything that resolved an issue. You are helping more people than you know.

I know what you mean. This sight helped replace a passenger cv half shaft and axle seal. Now I've been bitten by the sas bug, just need the money and time. But when I do Iknow can turn to this site for advise. Thanks EF:notworthy
