Howdy!

So, im here wondering if someone else had this problem before....

A/C works as intented, BUT when i have a hard acceleration i noticed the A/C stopped cooling. After some trial and error, i found out it wasnt the A/C itself, but the actuator opening and letting outside air coming in. I changed the actuator, same thing. so i started fidling a bit and started driving with the actuator connected but not installed. Here i noticed that when i floored it (hard acceleration) actuator started spining (hence opening the door letting outside air come in).

i know there is a system that disengages A/C during hard accelerations, but this is definitely not it. Its the actuator that starts spining by itself...it seems some sort of "reset".

Has anyone had this type of problem?

Have you had TSB 12-12-14 done on your Explorer? That has to do with exhaust smell in the cabin under hard acceleration.
Did the issue just start or has it been that way for a while?

Mmmm I honestly have no idea what would that be. I would have to check that out

Part of the TSB was to reprogram the HVAC module. I believe it allowed fresh air to enter the vehicle under hard acceleration. That's why I asked if the issue just started or if it has been there before.

Well I did chance the evaporator one time because it was leaking, and right after that, it all started.
