I have an 04 XLT. Yesterday for the first time I started having a problem with the A/C. The air flow keeps switching between the windshield vents and the Front vents (automatically). It does this randomly every few minutes (or less).

Thanks for the help.

Im having a similar problem with my 2002 Exploder, my vents are defaulting to the lower vents and defrost, this seem to coincides with acceleration, which leads me to believe it might be vacuum related. Have you found your failure yet?

While my a/c is on, I have the upper vent selected but have noticed it also comes out near the leg console vents....is this normal? I also have noticed that while it is 90+ outside, my a/c sometimes alternates from blowing out 45 degrees and goes up to 70. Is the temperture suppose to be constant or am I running low on freon. I hooked up a gauge and it rates right at being completely full. Is there a thermostat that makes it go back and forth?

My problem seems to have gone away by itself. I only had this problem for one day. I'm holding my breath (I'm sure it will be back).
