has anyone ever relocated the a/c controls before....i want to install a cb the only place i can find to fit it is where the a/c controls are...so does anybody know if the a/c has been relocated i'm looking to relocate to the glovebox...only thing that looks to be a problem is extending the wires and building a mount...other than that we're good, because the air lines are long enough to reach...i'm doing it no matter what...i just wanna know if it's been done before

I've seen it done before in a Crown Vic, but I don't know about Explorers.

It's a whole lot of work for not a whole lot of gain... is the space behind there deep enough for a CB radio?

I don't know for sure, but I do know there really isn't a whole lot of places to mount a CB... it's part of the reason I still haven't installed the one I have yet...

well there's not enough room to fit my cb and make it flush, it's gonna stick out a couple inches but i checked it all out...it's not gonna be a problem...plus it's the only place i could find to mount it except for hanging from the overhead console...which i don't want

i want to move my ac controls to where the radio is, only for the simple fact that i have an oversized flip out im putting in, and it would be perfect down there lol

its done in mustangs all the time so i can imagine its not a ton different in the explorer...if anything it would be easier...i myself am going to be doing this soon as i wnt to install a carputer with a double din touch screen in the stereo area then move the cd player to where the ac controls are
