hey guys tell me if this is possible. im thinkin about aking out the old A/C controls for my 99 Sport, has the 3 knobs on it, and switch it out with one of those electronic controllers. like from an eb or limited. i would have to think thats in only a matter of unplugging the old one, and plugging in the new one. just a thought. :mattmoon:

You would also have to run the wire harness and install the additional sensors required to operate the system. The two sensors I know of are the thermometer for the interior compartment (it goes behind the little grill next to the radio) and the ambient light sensor (it goes at the edge of the dash, by the windshield on the passenger side). I don't know if the electronic A/C computer is located in the A/C controls or not either. It may be somewhere else. It may just be an electronic switch assembly that you see in the dash, with the brains elsewhere.

I have Auto climate control in my EB and personally, I don't think it's worth the effort & cost. What I hate about it the most is that it lacks air re-circulate and A/C on & off bottons :(

I am also interrested in doing this...anyone know if the computer is located in the auto climate control itself or somewhere else? i have a 1996 explorer

This is done in a ranger but its the exact same thing . . .im also doing this

^^and Kontrol-Trak you have the '95 ver. this was the year b4 they integrated the system into the OBD-II which enhances the performance

we don't have recirculate or AC on/off buttons, you just have to know which positions on the dial do what... Like the Hi/Low vent position apparantly allows the AC to come on with outside temps above 55*F

personally I want a big friggin' button that says AC that i can turn it on and off and I want a button that is recycle or fresh air, then the normal vent selector

I had automatic climate control on my first acura and always ended up using the manual override b/c I didn't want the compressor kicking in all the time
