I've been considering putting a small fan on my ac evaporator. I was wondering if anybody has some measurements of what the evaporator size is on a V8 or if anyone has done this before. Down south it is terrible sitting still in traffic I start sweating in my own truck but works fine as soon as I start moving and get a breeze going through it. Thank you for any input

I think you mean A/C condenser, not the evaporator. Your problem may be a worn out fan clutch, or low refrigerant.

There's no reason you can't install an auxiliary electric fan on the condenser. They come in many diameters and it's easy to get at the condenser to measure which size will fit. Hayden makes aftermarket electric cooling fan kits, which are available at most auto parts stores.

I'd use a "pusher" fan and put it on a fused dedicated wire using a relay and switch. You just want to run it when needed. Not continuously.

I live in GA, so I doubt it gets hotter in MD. The A/C in my V8's gets plenty cold, though I don't typically spend much time in traffic.

When you say pusher fan you mean a fan mounted on the front pushing air towards the engine right?

Correct. There are "pushers" and "pullers". sometimes it's just a matter of how you connect the power and ground wires to the fan motor.
