A/C finally giving up

Hi,

So for the last several years every summer my A/C has needed a Freon top off, usually a can fills it up and it is good to go all summer.

This summer I think I have bigger issues. My Freon is still full but my compressor is not engaging. Now for the weird part. occasionally it works just fine blows nice and cold and others the compressor will not even get started. Any thoughts on where I should start with this?

Compressor isn't engaging either because the pressure is too low or too high. Get a real set of gauges on it .
