I can not adjust the temp, tried replacing the potetiometer,no luck, what controls the temp, there has to be a solenoid,or actuator of some kind that moves the temp cam. Is this a big job, how do you get to it?

Sounds like you might have a case of the dreaded Blend door failure. Try a search for "Blend Door" and you should get some good info.

From folks I have talked with it's a major PITA to fix if that's the problem.

Yep it's a PITA, mine the blend door was fine, the heater core blew up, pretty much the same procedure though. It took me about 4 hours to pull it out and about 3 to put it back together. I highly suggest that you check/replace the heater core while you have it apart, to save future grief.

Before commiting yourself to a bad blend door, be sure you aren't in MAX A/C. If you are, you won't be able to adjust your temperature. But then again there are few places in the U.S right now that would be using MAX A/C.

in MA tho?

Unfortunately once I hit Post Reply, I wasn't able to see his profile until after I posted my reply :( Maybe it's been unseasonably warm in MA?

Or maybe it's a problem that he had last summer and is just now getting around to questioning it :D

You know it is his first post so it is possible:rolleyes:
