my ac in my 2000 explorer 5.0 isn't as cold sitting still as when driving is it compressor or what ?

Or the cooling system is not as good as it should be...Fan clutch may not be pulling enough air through the condensor or the condensor may have dirty fins or there could be debris between the radiator and the back of the condensor impairing airflow...

If the cooling system checks out good, then you need to put a set of proper high/low gauges on the system and see what the pressures are in the system...
 






Thanks for suggestions guys.Heres the story. I bought my explorer hit in the front and I had to replace the rad and condensor.I got the parts used and the rad I got was thicker than the original.I checked the freon levels with my ac guages and the levels are good.would the thicker rad have any effect on the cooling fan air flow getting to the condensor ?
