my 92 Explorer that i recently bought, the A/c isnt working,, this is due to the compressure not kicking in, or the clutch not functoining.
i have hooked a meter up to the harrness that goes to the compresser clutch and when the a/c is switch (on) getting full amount of power to the harrness.
this leads me to beleave the clutch has failed,, my ? is on this vehical can the clutch be replaced from the compresser?
and if so,, the system wouldnt need to be drained correct?
Thanx for any info you can give.
Isaac

Yes the clutch can be replaced without having to evacuate the system.

ok great!
thank you for your info,, i take it that the small bolt in front is the only thing holding it?
going to a salvidge yard to take one or two off.
