My 03 Explorer has had a random issue lately. The A/C occasionally quits blowing out the face vent entirely, and within 20 seconds or so, comes back. Seems like the mode door is changing incorrectly and randomly.
Since it comes back on it's own, I doubt its a vacuum leak. Perhaps a temp sensor is freezing up or something. Anyone have this same trouble, and what's the likely fix?
Is the mode door electric or vacuum operated?
