my a/c would engage then disengage and it isin't on....is this normal? i thought there was something wrong so i have unplugged it, should i leave it plugged in? dunno just seems weird to me, it won't engage for long but seems to do it lots.

I'm not sure about your particular problem but many vehicles kick the a/c compressor in when the defroster is running and I don't know why. Maybe someone else does. It shouldn't hurt to have the compressor unplugged.

On a 92, It should be on. It acts as a dehumidifier for the defrost, and the coolant has lubricatives in it to keep the o rings and compressor from deteriorating.

Some one posted that 95s and later don't need it. I'm not so sure I agree.
