The first question is my oil light keeps coming on.Now i changed the oil 2 weeks ago and this light is acting very funny. So my question is would this problem be a sensor or a sending unit? Also the light usually comes on about half way to another oil change.
About a month ago i went and tried to tighten the lower intake manifold bolts.Well i didnt get to the lower intake.I thought i had but it wasnt.SO i thightened the wrong bolts and 1 of the bolts broke off inside where the bolt goes. Now could this be the problem with the light coming on also?

And my 2nd question is my truck has around 240,000 miles on it.Now this truck has been in my family only and besides my grandfather the owners were my mother and grandmother. Now being ladies they werent as hard on the truck as i am.Now the question is i dont think the diff fluid has ever been changed.Should i change it and inspect the gears and all?Or should i just leave it like it is?

Thanks for any help.

The oil warning light comes on when the oil level drops below the sensor located on the oil pan.. What does the dip stick read when the warning light comes on?

as far as the diff fluid goes.

that stuff should be checked, i usually change mine around 80,000 to 100,000 miles unless the fluid looks otherwise or you have to drain the axle for other reasons as well.

The oil on the dipstick reads just fine when i check it.Its not below to where i have to add more its right where it should be.
