a few questions

i purchased an 02' XLS earlier this year and have a few questions.
1. when i removed the kick panel on the drivers side and removed the front dash right above that there were 2 plugs that were not connected to anything. are they for possible upgrades or what?
2. is there anyway to get the outside temp guage to work? it lights on startup but then goes out.
3.i also have the hissing noise, my mechanic told me it is the vaccum seal behind the heat contorl bezel, how do you replace it?
4. right before i bought it it had a jasper transmission installed and i have a few issues with it. when braking, once i get to around 20-25mph there is a loud clunk noise, and if i panic stop it jumps out of gear and will not move for about 20-30 seconds then there is a loud bang and it goes back into gear. it also hesitates to shift when i am on the throttle hard around 4500rpm.
if anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it.

Cant answer everything but maybe I can add some value...

1 - those plugs are probably for auto headlights and or fog lights. I dont think an XLS has those.

2 - not easily, Im sure the outside sensor is not on the vehicle, and you may need to switch out the dash too.

3 - not sure on this.

4 - doesnt sound good but I cannot say why it happens.

I think they are for the Parking Sensor Switch and Adj. Pedals. I'm in the process of trying to add the parking sensor, only option it doesn't have.
