A Helpful Tip

Recently I used the Mothers clay bar system. This worked incredibly! My truck got it's old color back in about 2 hours! It was amazing!!! I can't belive how much of a difference it made. The process was pretty easy, first you wash your truck, then dry it completely. Obviously, the rest you do out of the sun if possible. The kit came with Mothers showtime spray and shine or something like that, you just spray a section, I did a door at a time, then the rear quarter panel, the half of the tailgate, etc. So back to the process, you just spray a section, then rub the clay bar with light to medium pressure in a right to left horizontal motion, then wipe with a clean towel or terrycloth. Then afterwards, I went back and did the three step wax which sealed the deal so-to-speak. The first step is a cleaning wax, then a polishing wax, then a sealer. Again, if you have a Saturday to spend with your truk, you will be 100% satisfied with this. Let me know if you have tried this or anyone who does it, and let me know what you think

Here's another tip, after you wash, rinse, then use the clay, then rinse again, then dry.

So you are saying keep it wet the whole time? Don't you have to use that spray wax? I'm curious.

Do a section at a time, maybe 3SQ ft, rinse, you can also use as your lubricant a spray bottle with a few drops of dish soap, works as well as the store bought stuff.
Heres one more tip: keep a bucket of hot water handy, while your rinsing, toss in the claybar, makes it easy to knead, than move on

Keeping it wet helps the process. I would not use a spray wax type of product because of the carnauba. Clay lube, Meg's #34, Meg's Last Touch, Mother's Showtime are all OTC products. If you want to save some money, get a 16oz. spray bottle and put an oz. of some car shampoo (Meg's Gold Class, EO) and fill the rest with water, whola clay lube.

I use Zaino Z6 ( mixed 1:1 with DI/RO water ) as my clay lubricant.

Thats works, all ya need is something that makes the bar slip over the surface.
Your could probebly do a self love thing in a cup and use that
Using a claybar is not rocket science, just takes a grunt with the I:Q of a neanderthal to do the work.
