a hop while braking

Not sure if its just my foot or not but everyone i ride with including me notices a jerk when i brake. What i mean is, when im braking and almost to a complete stop my car sort of hops or jerks. any ideas?

I would check for contamination/damage on the pads/rotors. Next, for loose parts relating to the calipers. And finally, suspension damage/wear to bushings, TREs or BJs.

Could even be drive train related, like transmission or torque converter.

Or maybe you are feeling the transmission downshift into a lower gear?

I had a '98 Jeep XJ with the same/similar problem. Upon braking... almost every single time, I would get an almost violent jerk/hop. It later started to feel as if the back tires were locking up and skidding. I ended up narrowing it down to the rear differential. Your outcome may very well be drastically different, but its worth taking a look at. I never pulled the cover from the Jeep because I didn't really have the time/money to fix it and I had an interested buyer that was aware of the problem. They had a donor unit, so I got rid of it while I could. I even got more than I paid for it... lucky me, eh?

Does, your abs light come on?

if it does its possibly a bad abs speed sensor.

well, just got picked up the car this morning. Problem GONE!! this is what is stated on the invoice:

VERIFIED CUSTOMER CONCERN OF HARD DOWNSHIFT THEN RAN OASIS AND FOUND TSB 06-23-11 UPDATE THE PCM & TCM CALIBRATION AND CLEAR TCM KAM AND PERFORM ADAPTIVE SHIFT STRATEGY
