Some of you may remember one of my questions about the removal of the exhaust system on an explorer. I asked how to get the system off the rubber hangers. Some suggestions were cut it off or use WD-40. I found a way that makes it very easy. I had this stuff laying around that makes your tires and vinyl trim shiny (Black Magic Trim and Tire?). Anyway it's 100% silicone, so it is very slippery. If you put some on the metal hangers and work it into the hanger, the metal piece slides right out. If you replace your exhaust, I would suggest you get some of this stuff.

It also works well for what it's supposed to do. You can use it on the hard plastic bumper covers and tires. Try it out it's about $4 for a good sized bottle at your local parts store.

P.S. Sorry but while I'm on cleaning, the swiffer sweeper rags work really good to get all the dust off your dash.

When working with rubber like removing the exhaust from the hanger. I would use soap. You ask "soap why"? Well the wd-40 is a pertolium based substance which means that it will eat away are the rubber and make it very soft and mushy and then the hanger will not hold the exhaust. This is just a though. And I am sure that everyone has some dish soap at home.

I agree with the swiffer rags, they also work to gently wipe the daily dust and pollen of your exterior, now for the lint free streak free windows, use newspaper of coffe filters insteady of paper towels.
As for the rubber hangers, use soapy water, petroleum and rubber or silicone dont mix well.
