A Weird Clunking Noise!

Update?
I can't really say this is an update to my clunking noise problem but last week, I started feeling grinding when I stop - I immediately took the truck in to get the brakes checked out. I needed two new front brake pads and one rotor on the driver side.
Since I had them replaced, the clunking sound has stopped, now what do you make of that? No more clunk! Is that too weird or what?
The truck is now driving/stopping smoothly and noiseless. Too weird!
