Hi everyone, i am new to this forum. I have a 1993 Explorer 2wd auto a4la that has a front seal leak. I pulled the transmission out and resealed it only to find that they also had the problem with the Bellhousing bushing! This morning i decided to check the bushing before going any further. I lifted up the tranny (myself) to put it up onto the jack and i fear that something bad happened. The front shaft (small one) slipped out what seemed like a couple of inches and slid back in but i am not sure if it is back where it is suppose to be. Anyone with the knowledge of this i would greatly appreciate some help on this matter. 1. is the shaft suppose to slip out (and back in). 2. what is the measurment of the exposed part of the shaft (when in correct position)?
Thank You in advance for any and all help, i really need to get my X up and running as soon as i can.
Note: the front bushing looked good and the transmission is good, so we installed new seals, filter and fluid and the transmission is fine now, Thanks
