Hello again,

The sega of my rebuilt A4LD continues.
rebeuilt the valve body and all was well. now no low gears other than drive.
OD is not kicking in and the rpms are running higher than normal at freeway speeds
65 mph I was at 2800 rpms now 3200 rpms?

The strange rattling noise coming from under then put in low 1,2
no slipping just noise and drives as if I never shifted?

Shift cable seems fine is my tc shot for good??
Tranny temp is actually a little lower on the guage (Dummy Guage) than before I put in the aux cooler.

I have know ideas for the solution to this one.

HELP!!!

Might want to recheck the Z link hookup....make sure the manual valve is moving appropriately as you shift it...

When you rebuilt the valve body did you clean it thoroughly? flush the fluid before or after? new filter? no 3-4 will in the vast majority of cases be the 3-4 solenoid or 3-4 spool. Did you clean the screen (if it had one)?

(looking for the easy solutions here)

No screen everything was working fine till about a week ago now I have no low gears when I down shift the auto to low 1 & 2.
You could have served dinner on the valve body cleaned and blown off before vasaline and reasembly (vasaline foe the valve body not me.) just to be clear.
New filter...Check, because lets face it how often do I want to take off the pan.

Followed the bible and am out of ideas.

Could it be the bands? just grasping at straws

I don't know if it will help others, but I'm a little unclear on what the problem is. Exactly what happens when you put it in manual 1 and 2? It goes to neutral? It acts like it does in D and OD? When in D/OD, does it shift through 1 and 2 like it should (start in 1st, then shift to 2nd at a reasonable speed, then shift to 3rd, then TCC lockup), or is it trying to start out in 3rd?

You say OD (4th gear) isn't working, is the torque converter clutch locking up like it should?

Did it work properly for a while after you rebuilt the valve body, or has it been like this since you put the valve body back in?
